An i30 in need of a spruce up.

Whats a detailers worse nightmare? Running out of car shampoo? Pressure washer packing in? Nope. Rain after fully cleaning a car.

Thats exactly what happened before, during and after cleaning this punchy grey Hyundai i30 that in dirty form, looks a little flat.

Nonetheless as always I find a way to get over the problem and find a way to make the car look the best it can.

Now this isn’t the dirtiest car we’ve done by a long way, but as mentioned its looking a little flat and at a glance it appears the wheels had never had more than a wash to the face of the wheels. So a little extra attention was required to bring them up to a good standard.

Hitting the wheels with two separate coatings of iron fallout remover followed by an attack with detailing and barrel brushes worked a treat. A strong foamy mix of tyre cleaner along with a good scrub would bring the wheel back to their best.

The wheels were treated at the end of the clean with a silicone based coating to make the tyres look brand new again. The finish really makes the complete car.

Going back to the ‘flat’ remark. This image followed by the image right below here is exactly what I’m trying to describe.

From a dull looking badge with limited reflectivity……….

…..To a sparkling badge and paintwork which is cleaning again and is much more mirror-like than it was.

If you look closely, you can see the rain spots. Perfect timing right.

After a body decontamination including the removal of a load of bugs, bird poo and typical road grime.

Glass cleaned inside and out and the whole vehicle coated in a specially formulated protective wax coating with a 3-month durability. I was pleased to see the rain fall so I could see the water beading in action.
